Danny graduated high school, went to college, and received a degree in Sound Engineering and Recording. He took on several jobs afterward, gaining experience but not finding the right fit. His father suggested he take over the holiday orders and Danny made over 100 cinnamon roll Christmas trees on his first day. Discovering that he enjoyed making bread, he started taking orders for pickup and delivery. Working in the basement bakery, he learned the recipes and began to experiment with his own variations.
In 2021, Bumble Bread returned, selling each week at the Grayslake Farmers’ Market and the Pearl Street Market in McHenry. He continues to take orders for pickups and bakes for corporate orders and fundraisers. He is also on the permanent menu at Kim & Patty’s Café in McHenry where they use his cinnamon rolls to create “Bumble Bread French Toast”.
Danny has found a new love for bread baking and feels he has found his long-term career. He has great support from his family and friends and from loyal customers who visit the markets and place orders every week. This has inspired Danny to improve his business through the McHenry Chamber of Commerce and the Riverwalk Shoppes in 2023, and now in 2024, and has plans of setting up shop in the area for good. Danny lives in McHenry with his wife, Krystal, and their two year old daughter, Eleanor.
